I strive to create resonant narrative through imagery inspired by landscape, and drawing from mythic archetypes. I seek to celebrate inseparable threads of truth, resilience, and sheer beauty that run through the experience of being alive
My work is a conversation between beauty and fear, sweetness and horror, light and dark, being seen and being hidden. I’m drawn to the interplay of these opposites, and perceive my creative process as a delicate reconstruction of a layered reality, where fragments can be retrieved and reassembled.
In painting, I gravitate towards vibrant color and contrast, Vastness and enclosure are equally important. My mixed media and sculpture techniques underscore the raw and pieced together nature of my process, ideally reflective of life itself, Repeated imagery and symbolism serve to craft physical experience of space and story..
Similar to a dancer performing a choreographed work, images of my own body are tools of expression, instruments of communication. My works are intended as microcosms that intertwine the unspoken and the intangible in temporarily frozen time, a personal definition of safety within turbulence,
These quiet narratives are intended to both mirror and question a relationship to a shared world, by illuminating the interrelation of light and dark spaces, and the many ways both can be inhabited.
